Development Consultant
Project Create is an arts education organization serving families, children, and youth experiencing homelessness and poverty in Washington, D.C.
As a development consultant, I helped Project Create establish a long-term, sustainable fundraising strategy while improving short-term cash flow.
In 2015, the organization invited me to present research on the film Inocente as part of a multi-day event on the arts and youth homelessness.

Development & Communications Director
The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty is the only national-level legal advocacy organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States.
As development & communications director, I was responsible for all of the organization's fundraising, media relations, and public relations.
During this time, l obtained media placements in The New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, NPR, C-SPAN, MSNBC, numerous local media, and more.
I also coordinated a number of major events, including the National Forum on the Human Right to Housing, and an annual fundraising gala which featured HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan and bestselling author Barbara Ehrenreich in 2010, and Congressman Barney Frank in 2011.

Director of Development
Shalom Community Center is a daytime resource center for people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Southern Indiana. I served as the center's first-ever development director while completing my M.A. at Indiana University.
In this role, I managed all fundraising efforts, and developed communication plans and templates for the organization. I also coordinated a team to host fundraising events with Grammy Award-winning opera singer Sylvia McNair.
